Ben Wilson travels to Brands Hatch this weekend as he bids to put the disappointment of Knockhill behind him.

The Kirton racer placed 16th in the first race and pulled out of the second encounter in Scotland with a bike problem – forcing him to return home pointless from the MCE British Superbike Championship meet.

However, on his last visit to the Kent circuit the Gearlink Kawasaki ace came away with a fourth and tenth place.

A repeat of that would be very welcome for Wilson, but this time he is racing on the full GP circuit – whereas the first race of the season took part on the short “Indy” circuit.

Once again the three free practice sessions will be spent finding a good setting for the Gearlink Kawasaki Superbike ahead of the three stage qualifying session on Saturday.

The weekend timetable is: Friday – free practice one (10.10am); free practice two (4.15pm). Saturday – free practice three (10.35am); qualifying (4.05pm). Sunday – warm up (9.30am); race one (20 laps, 1.30pm); race two (20 laps, 4.30pm).

Standings: 1st Shane Byrne (RS Kawasaki) 190pts; 2nd Josh Brookes (Milwaukee Yamaha) 111pts; 3rd James Ellison (Lloyds British GBmoto Kawasaki) 108pts; 4th Tommy Bridewell (Milwaukee Yamaha) 88pts; 5th Ryuichi Kiyonari (Buildbase BMW) 82pts.
