UPDATE: Kitten found injured at Spalding Sainsbury’s named Mog and rehomed

The four-month-old kitten found injured at Spalding’s Sainsbury’s store has been named Mog, after the feline in the supermarket’s Christmas TV advert.

And a home has been found after offers from kind-hearted Voice readers to Alder Veterinary Practice in Bourne Road, Spalding.

Registered veterinary nurse Zoe Reeve said on our Facebook post about the appeal for a name and home: “Thank you so much to everyone who has shared and commented with names for her.

“I am so very pleased to say she now has a new home to go to when she’s well enough. While she is in our care she will indeed be called Mog, very fitting for.

“Thank you Spalding Voice and your readers.”

Friday, November 13: This young kitten needs a name and a home after being found with a broken leg in the grounds of a Spalding supermarket.

Alder Veterinary Practice in Bourne Road took in the feral four-month-old after it was found by Sainsbury’s staff trying to get into the delivery compound at the Holland Market store.

Registered veterinary nurse Zoe Reeve said: “It had a fractured leg which we’ve put a pin in during orthopaedic surgery.

“Now we’re hoping Voice readers will suggest a name and someone will give her a home.
“It will need to be somewhere without dogs and young children because she’ll need time to adjust to new surroundings but a household with other cats should be fine.”

  • To suggest a name for the kitten write it as a comment on our Facebook page or email [email protected]
  • To offer her a home, call Zoe at Alder Veterinary Practice on 01775 766646
