A therapeutic garden to support mental health and wellbeing in Gosberton held a special event for the community recently.
Greenwell Horticultural Therapy, which oversees the project outside Gosberton Medical Centre, welcome people for an Easter egg hunt.
There was also live music from Retrospekt, games and stalls, including plants sold that had been grown at the Baytree Wellbeing Garden.
Greenwell works closely with Rachel Okwuadi, the Gosberton social prescribing link worker, and other members of staff, many of whom attended the event.
Sir John Hayes, MP for South Holland and the Deepings, was the VIP guest having supported Greenwell’s work since it began almost two years ago.
Karen Chard, Greenwell’s lead horticultural therapist, said: “This event has been a great success and is testament to the close working relationship we have with the medical practice to support the needs of their patients.
“We are privileged to have been able to develop the garden space to enable patients to experience the mental and physical benefits of gardening, make good friends and enjoy being outdoors in nature.
“Thanks go to the many volunteers and helpers who worked together to make the event a success, including the children of surgery staff who organised the Easter egg hunt.”
