Weather frustrates sides

The rain brought huge frustration for the area’s Saturday sides.
Both Spalding and Long Sutton’s games were cancelled without a ball being bowled.
Their relegation rival Grimsby Town did manage to take four wickets in the abandoned game they played in, the 12 points earned as a result taking them level on points with Spalding.
It was particularly frustrating for Moulton Harrox in the South Lincolnshire and Border League Championship.
Their first cancellation of the season came on the weekend when league leaders Burghley Park were without a game and Harrox would have hoped they would reduce the gap with a fixture against bottom of the table Freiston.
Instead it’s eight points for Moulton which gives Burghley the title as they’re 42 points ahead with both sides only having two matches remaining.
Harrox are 32 points ahead of third placed Sleaford II who lost in the only game that beat the weather.
