Warning after man duped out of £230 on phone

A warning has been issued by a Holbeach man who was the victim of phone fraud.

Phillip Hixson says he feels “totally stupid” after setting up a Western Union transfer from his bank account on Saturday.
The caller claimed to be from his broadband provider TalkTalk and wanted to help get his computer running faster.

Mr Hixson (44) said: “I’m not a gullible person and I’ve been taken in. I feel totally stupid and I wanted to let other people know that this is happening.”
He added that his bank has promised to refund the £230 taken.
