Wargames fundraiser

Spalding Wargames Club has raised over £1,000 for Cancer Research.

Three of the games club’s members, Ian Davison, Martin Jackson and Alec Bell took part in the Race for Life and the same day, they held a special gaming get-together.

Demo games were held, including a Harry Potter Dungeons and Dragons game, Star Wars Legion and Warhammer 40,000. A model painting contest pitted members’ artistic skills against each other.

There was a cake stall and further donations were made throughout the event.

Chairman Martin said: “It’s great to see the club members pulling together and raising money for such a great cause. Through the Race for Life sponsors, the club’s event and donations, we’ve raised over £1,000.”

Spalding Wargames Club is a friendly group that plays tabletop games of all types, from wargames to role playing games to boardgames.

They meet Wednesdays at the Vista, Churchgate, Spalding at 7.15pm. The club is open to everyone aged 18-plus and the first evening’s attendance is free. Check out the Spalding Wargames Club Facebook page to find out more.
