Walking to raise dementia cash

Staff at a Holbeach wealth management firm have taken part in a 24-hour walkathon to raise funds for charity.

The team at Lynas Vokes Investments Ltd participated in the challenge to support the Alzheimer’s Society’s Insurance Day for Dementia.
The team walked a total of 80 miles – the equivalent of the distance from Holbeach to Matlock, Derbyshire – by taking turns on a treadmill provided by Royal’s Gym in Holbeach.
The event has raised £1,625 through their JustGiving page, with additional donations made directly at the Lynas Vokes office.
Jamie Gordon, Managing Director of Lynas Vokes, congratulated his team for their dedication, particularly for giving up their sleep to take part in the challenge.
He also expressed his gratitude to everyone who made donations, and to those who provided cakes to keep the team energised during the event.
Special thanks were given to Royal’s Gym for loaning the treadmill that made the fundraiser possible.
Alice Grewcock, regional fundraiser for Alzheimer’s Society, said: “We’re so grateful for supporters like the team at Lynas Vokes.
“Their dedication to raise funds by staying up for 24 hours and walking is truly incredible.”
