Volunteers keep eye on speed

Members of Fleet Community Speed Watch have been out in Long Lane.
Over just an hour on Thursday, March 13, they monitored 147 vehicles of which four were doing more than 45mph on the 40mph limit road.
Coun Paul Barnes took part and said: “Although it was cold it was great fun, whilst at the same time doing a very important job in educating drivers.
“The four drivers speeding will get some further education in the form of a letter. Nearly all the drivers waved or gave us the thumbs up- although I was slightly concerned about the driver who waved with both hands!”
