Volunteers help transform venue

Paint brushes were very much at the ready when volunteers helped a community hall transform.

Project St Thomas, based at the former St Thomas’ Methodist Church in Spalding, was chosen by B&Q to benefit from a community day.
Staff from the DIY company spent a whole day volunteering to help the project undergo a make over.
Staff and volunteers spent a couple of days at the centre for a re-paint and to create a kids corner.
“It has been a pleasure to be part of the project and to help Tracey with redecorating the hall,” said the store’s Julie Andrew.
Users of the Pinchbeck Road Chappell Centre also donated their time to help paint the venue, which changed from blue to green.
Project St Thomas relationship manager Tracey Carter, also a district councillor, said the organisation submitted their revamp to B&Q and were delighted it was chosen to host a community day.
The group of volunteers from the Chappell Centre were also a great help, said Coun Carter.
“The result is amazing, it was much more than just painting, it looks so nice. Huge thanks to Julie from B&Q and everyone else who helped us to revamp, it has made such a difference.
“What we really need is to replace the piece of blue carpet which stands out now! If there’s a carpet supplier and fitter who can help, please get in touch,” she said
