Visiting Clarion riders double-up for title

The annual two-up time trial championships at Spalding Cycling Club saw a cold, blowy night greet the riders.
The special event sees riders pair up and work together to achieve the fastest time.
Shaun Brennan and Shane Mezzatesta, of Fenland Clarion CC, proved to be fastest, clocking 21mins 31secs. Because they are not Spalding members, their time does not count towards championship results.
The club award went to defending champions Frazer and Josh Wallis. Josh, riding his first race of the year on his road bike, fought to hang on to the back of his dad, keeping up his strong form on his time trial bike.
They finished in 22:36, ahead of Matt Chappell and Mark Hills (23:03) with Gareth Richards and Dan Warner more than a minute behind them (24:29).
Another father and son pairing, Mark and Jacob Booth finished sixth (25:44), just behind Gerry Charlwood and Tom Drew (25:11).
