Viola’s 100 miles for charity

A Spalding 12-year-old has been inspired by a friend to cycle for 100 miles in 30 days.

Viola Mallen-Wallace, who lives just outside Moulton Chapel, has already raised over £400 for the Little Princess Trust by getting on her bike.

She was inspired to take on the challenge by her friend Alia Jones who cycled for 100 miles on her exercise bike to raise money for The Lily Foundation which is research a cure into the Mitochondrial Disease she suffers from.

Viola had previously had her hair cut off for the Little Princess Trust to be turned into a wig for children whose illnesses have led to them losing their hair.

And the Year Seven Spalding Academy pupil wanted to continue to support that charity with the bike ride.

Viola said: “I am so amazed how much I have raised and how quickly the donations have gone up.”
