Villagers honoured with Citizen of the Year award

Two villagers who have done a lot for the community have been honoured.

An award ceremony for the Moulton Citizen of the Year award was held at Moulton Community Centre last week following the annual parish meeting.

Nominations were received from members of the parish giving their reasons for their nominee being worthy of recognition for the tireless work they do within their community.

Last year’s winner Kathy Kearns presented the trophies to the winners.

This year’s winner was Peter Breach for his involvement in many aspects of the community and being responsible for the successful pantomime, which raised significant funds for the Moulton Community Association. He has provided transport for others in addition to being involved with the Remembrance Day celebrations.

Peter was presented with the shield, a replica to keep and a certificate.

The runner up was Anthea Sherwood who does work for Moulton Community Association, planting up flower beds and the village green, tending bird and insect boxes, helping at the pantomime and baking for many functions.

Anthea received a runner up shield and certificate. Alison Combes and Hendrina Tibbs were also worthy nominees and both received a certificate.

Refreshments were provided by Liz Breach and Vera Angelo.
