Veterans’ nostalgic trip

A Holbeach centenarian who served in the RAF during the Second World War was reunited with an iconic plane.

Douglas Marsh will be 100 next month and both he and Joseph King made a special visit to the Lincolnshire Aviation Centre in East Kirkby.
The residents of Holbeach Hospital, who were both in the armed forces, saw the iconic Avro Lancaster and the Mosquito aircraft.
They were accompanied by activities coordinators Jackie White and Maggie Ward.
The hospital will be holding its first summer fayre since the pandemic on Sunday, July 16 from 1pm to 4pm.
There will be a variety of stalls, games, refreshments and an ice cream van for residents to enjoy.
