Venue plea for popular festival

The hunt is on to find a new home for a popular South Holland music festival.

A field which has been home to Holbeach Music and Beer Festival for four years has been sold, leaving organisers appealing for an alternative.

Kings Field, on Raven’s Gate, was the perfect 20-acre site for the festival which has grown over the years.
Plans for the 2023 event are already under way, but it’s now been put on hold until a replacement home can be found.

But if a new home is not secured soon, the whole festival could be under threat for next year.

“Tickets and event information won’t be released or advertised until we hopefully have found a new home and then, most importantly, all the authorities approve our proposed festival management plan alongside our new premises licence application,” said organiser Sean Taylor.

The Kings Field had been home to the festival since 2018 and last year’s proved to be a record with more than 15,000 guests and 800 campers.

“We’ve already booked all our headline acts for 2023 with all our usual supporting services secured, deposit money paid and contracts signed,” said Sean.

“We are publicly asking for any farmers or land owners to contact us if they offer any grass land in the Holbeach area for us to continue in 2023 or, unfortunately we will have to stop the event.”

Any potential site needs to be at least 25 acres to be feasible for a venue.

Sean said the festival would be happy to buy a field to secure the future of the festival if one could not be rented.

“It’s going to be challenging to find the perfect piece of grass land, but we won’t give up until we’ve exhausted all avenues.

“To stop now doesn’t seem right, especially after this year’s record attendance with over 15,000 guests attending from all over the country and 800 happy campers enjoying the four day festival,” said Sean.
