Spalding United will have a new sponsor’s name emblazoned on the front of their home and away playing strips this season after VegTrug won the Tulips’ raffle event.
The response to the club’s raffle, which offered a unique opportunity for businesses to get their brand name displayed on the front of the shirts was a huge success – and they were represented at the Sir Halley Stewart Field on Saturday afternoon when the draw was made by Lincolnshire FA, Spalding area delegate George Richardson.
First out of the hat was nationwide company VegTrug, a business who had already supported the Tulips by purchasing the advertising space on the back of the shirts for the coming season.
Their managing director Joe Denham later Tweeted: “Proud to be sponsoring a fantastic local club. Front and back of shirts for the year. Absolutely great.”
Spalding chairman Andy Gay thanked all of the businesses who had taken part in the Tulips raffle.
He added: ”We thank you all for your support. It is very much appreciated by everyone involved with the club.”
The Tulips also revealed on Sunday morning that the majority of players already registered have been individually sponsored.
Vice president Jack Goddard is supporting Michael Duggan, Jack Fixter, Adam Jackson, Matt Varley, Paul Walker, Nathan Whitehead and Jonny Lockie, Reeves Tyres are sponsoring Ellis Humble, Cenk Acar and Neal Spafford, Maplethorpe Builders are supporting Conor Higginson, Liam Harris and Lee Beeson and Tulips Social Club are backing Jordan Lemon.
