Urgent appeal for children’s play area land in Gedney Dyke

An urgent appeal has been issued for a small parcel of land in Gedney Dyke for a children’s play area.

It follows a Gedney Parish Council meeting last week when a proposal not to place it on a green near the war memorial was carried 5-2 in a vote, with one abstention.
The council will now investigate alternative options, but the timeframe for claiming agreed grant funding is the end of December.

Clerk Jane Ripley said: “If there’s a farmer or someone else with a small piece of land available to lease to the council on a peppercorn rent, please get in touch.”
The email address is [email protected].

A previous Voice report incorrectly stated that all neighbouring residents to the proposed green site had had a visit from a councillor. In fact they all had the opportunity of a visit. We apologise for the error.
