Spalding Golf Club’s top team remain in the hunt for glory in the South Lincolnshire Scratch League after beating leaders Sleaford on Saturday.
The 3.5-2.5 victory ended Sleaford’s 100 per cent record in the division this season and leaves Spalding just one point off the pace with three games still to play.
The best win came from Robert McCrae and Ollie Mitchell (4&2), while Andy Grimwood and Simon Richardson (2up) and Callum Lewis and Hugo Kedzlie (1up) were also victorious.
James Crampton and Lewis Pucill halved to help secure Spalding secure the spoils.
- Also taking on Sleaford were Mike Crampton’s mixed team – who drew 4-4 with their hosts despite being a player short.
There were wins for Mike Crampton and Hannah Thorold (4&3), John Camm and Maureen Orwell (2up), Geoff and Gill Dewhurst (2up) and David Tasker and Elaine Harrison (5&4).
The beaten duos were Monty Brittain and Beryl Skinner (4&2), Jenny Pipe and a Sleaford member (4&2), Geoff Skinner and Millie Thorold (2&1) and Ray Harrison and Ann Tasker (4&3).
