University visit as part of week

Pupils at Whaplode and Weston St Mary primary schools took part in their first ever Careers Week recently.

Throughout the week, pupils had the chance to meet and talk to professionals from a wide variety of industries, including accountants, healthcare professionals, pilots, and radio presenters. Interactive workshops and engaging presentations made the sessions both educational and enjoyable, inspiring pupils to dream big and set goals for their futures.
A major highlight of the week was a visit to Selwyn College, University of Cambridge.
Year Six pupils were given a unique opportunity to tour the college, visit the museum, and chat with university students.
Abbie Muir, executive headteacher at Weston and Whaplode said: “Providing our pupils with opportunities to meet professionals and visit a prestigious university like Cambridge is invaluable.
“It broadens their horizons, raises aspirations, and helps them see that their future is full of possibilities.
“We want every child to believe they can achieve great things.”
