Police call death at Spalding bakery ‘unexplained’

The death of a man at a Spalding bakery is being treated as unexplained, Lincolnshire Police has said.

They responded to a report of the sudden death of a man in his 40s on Fulney Road around 1.20pm on Sunday, August 25.

The incident happened at Addo Food Group’s Spalding Bakery.

A spokesman for Lincolnshire Police said: “Incident 250 of 25 August was reported to us at 1.20pm.

“We were called to a bakery in Fulney Lane following a report of a sudden death.

“This related to a man in his 40s.

“This is currently being treated as unexplained and at present it is not believed to be suspicious.

“The coroner has been informed.

In a statement Addo Food Group said the man had died from natural causes.

A spokesman said: “Addo Food Group can confirm that an employee passed away at our Spalding Bakery site on the afternoon of August 25.

“The police and coroner in attendance have confirmed death by natural causes.

“Our thoughts are with the friends and family of our employee at this time.”
