Uncertainty goes on for Brantano staff at Spalding store

Staff at Spalding’s Brantano shoe store continue to face uncertainty, two weeks after the redundancy of three staff and closure of the concession in the town’s Beales Department Store.

Brantano went into administration in March and the Holland Market store, which employs 12 people, has been displaying closing down signs.

Tony Barrell, lead administrator at PwC, said: “We continue to trade the rest of the stores, whilst engaging in ongoing discussions with interested parties about the potential sale of parts of the business.”

Staff from the concessions are getting ongoing support, Mr Barrell said.
He added: “Our thoughts are with the employees affected and we will support them at this difficult time, including in applying for open positions that currently exist in the store network.”
