Tydd St Giles Golf Club’s lodge owners chip in to help raise £1,100 for Butterfly Hospice

Tydd St Giles Golf Club held their annual Lodge Owners Charity Day competition on Sunday – raising more than £1,000 for charity in the process.

There was a great turnout of lodge owners, who took part in an 18-hole Stableford competition before the day was rounded off by a barbecue for all of the golfers and their families.

The men’s event was won by Wayne Davies, who scored 42 Stableford points.

Malcolm Miller and Darren McManus were his nearest rivals after both finished on 39 points, with Miller edging second spot on countback.

In the ladies’ event, Liz Miller took the honours after edging out Michelle Fendley on countback with both players managing 35 points.

Lorraine Gallie was some way back in third spot with 30 points.

Organiser Malcolm Miller said: “I’d like to thank all for their support on the day, including bar staff, the chef, and all who helped.

“We raised a total of £1,100, which will go to our chosen charity, which is the Butterfly Hospice Trust at Boston.”
