Tydd regroup at lower level after pulling out of top division

Tydd have withdrawn from the Premier Division of the GCE Hire Fleet Peterborough League after two seasons of struggle.
Despite finishing in the bottom two in both years, the team were not relegated so have decided to regroup as a club at a lower level.
Trying to find enough players to cope with a punishing start to the season that saw 12 games in 21 days for the two teams proved to be the final straw.
A combined first and second team will continue in Division Two, where the reserves had lost their first two games and pulled out of two others. However, the new team got off to a flying start with a 3-1 win against leaders Bourne Town Reserves courtesy of goals from Kai Scott-Henson, Tim Magnus and Ricky Holstead.
Reigning champions Moulton Harrox moved up to seventh place in the Premier Division table thanks to a 2-0 win at Chatteris Town. Nathan Smith and Louis Steadman got the goals.
Holbeach United Reserves remain bottom with just two points to their name after eight games following a 2-1 defeat at Deeping United.
Long Sutton Athletic lost ground at the foot of Division One after going down 4-2 at fellow strugglers Eunice. Calvin Bird and Jack Greenacre got the goals but Athletic have just a point to their name from the opening seven games.
Whaplode Drove Rovers fell to their second defeat of the campaign but remain well-placed, despite a 6-3 reversal at Hampton United.
Harley Williams and William Knight put them 2-0 up but they trailed 3-2 when a player from both sides was sent off.
The hosts added another before Jordan Fiddes pulled one back. Alas, that did not spark a recovery and it was the home side who struck twice more.
The goals flowed in Division Two where Crowland Town Reserves led the way with an 11-1 demolition of Deeping United Reserves. Nathan Woodward and Sam Leggett both got hat-tricks in an incredible second half that saw the visitors score ten.
Pinchbeck-based Peterborough Polonia slipped up 6-1 at home to Netherton United Reserves and Sutton Bridge United also suffered on their own turf, going down 4-1 to Park Farm Pumas Reserves.
