Some 124 golfers took part in Tydd St Giles Golf Club’s a Crohn’s Charity open day as a whopping £2,014.80 was raised.

Tydd’s senior section co-ordinator Brian Shales thanked all for attending the open day, which also made £157 for the British Heart Foundation thanks to the hard work of the members wives, who organised the halfway house.

Amazingly, £20,000 has now been raised during Shales’ last ten years as senior co-ordinators, benefiting the likes of Fawnaps, the Macmillan charity, Rays Of Sunshine and the Chrohn’s disease charity.

Competition winners on the day, with 132 points, were J Manders, A Williams, T Foster and M Masien from Ely, with J Hodson, J Sullivan J Mann and A Preston (123pts) from Feltwell the runners-up.
