Tydd aim for Spanish highs

Tydd St Giles Golf Club is targetting a triumphant treble after the men’s handicap team won the Lincs Handicap B Division with just one defeat from their eight matches and the ladies team won their league in the Lincs Women’s Golf Association.

Now it is the turn of Ady Bills and Gino Ciuffini to try to make it a hat-trick after qualifying for the Daily Mail Foursomes finals in Spain.
The nationwide competition saw about 2,000 clubs enter, with the final eight competing at the El Rompido club near Huelva in the south west of Spain.
The Tydd pair started their journey in April, seeing off local rivals Sutton Bridge. After that they beat pairs from Gedney Hill, Searles (Hunstanton), Peterborough Milton, King’s Lynn and Bedford County.
That led to a final qualifying match against Kingsthorpe Golf Club, from Northampton, which Bills and Ciuffini won 6-4 to qualify for the final knockout stages in Spain.
