Two teams beat freeze but lose games

Only two local teams managed to play their GCE Hire Fleet Peterborough League matches but both ended in defeat.

In Division Two, Tydd fell to a 4-2 defeat at Sawtry Reserves, while Whaplode Drove Rovers Reserves went down 6-4 at home to Stamford Belvedere Reserves in Division Three.

Scott Beal scored twice and William Knight and Maxwell Parry once each for Whaplode, who have lost 14 of their 15 league games so far this season, conceding 98 goals along the way.

Remarkably, their single win came at the expense of promotion-chasing Hampton United Reserves back in September.
