Two road traffic collisions in icy conditions near village

Two road traffic collisions in icy conditions caused “chaos” on roads around Tongue End today (Monday).

Lincolnshire Police say they believe a two vehicle collision on Counter Drove Drain say a white Audi A4 left the road and then later a silver Ford Fiesta did the same and collided with the Audi.

Police were called to that incident on the road between Tongue End and Pode Hole at around 11am.

The second incident occurred around 2pm and involved lorries sliding off the road at South Fen Road.

It’s not clear if anybody was injured in the incidents.

Steve Timewell of Lincolnshire Drones took these pictures of the incidents.

He described the scenes around the roads as “chaos”. “The road was like an ice rink,” he continued.
