Two people from Crowland arrested after man in his 30s died following hit and run

Two people from Crowland have been arrested following a hit and run that killed a man in his 30s.

The man was walking along a footpath when hit by a vehicle on Paston Ridings in Peterborough at 8.30am yesterday (Thursday, October 20).

Today Cambridgeshire Police said two people had been arrested.

A 45-year-old man from Crowland has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, death by driving whilst disqualified and failing to stop at scene of collision.

A 64-year-old woman, also from Crowland, has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and failing to stop at the scene of a collision. 

Both remain in custody.

In an appeal yesterday Cambrigeshire Police’s DI Garry Webb, from the Beds, Cambs and Herts (BCH) Road Policing Unit, said: “This is an incredibly sad incident where a man in his 30s has lost his life and we are doing all we can to investigate, but we need the public’s help.

“We are appealing for witnesses, dash cam footage and anyone who was in the area at the time and saw a dark Renault Megane to get in touch.”
