Controversial plans for a pair of semi-detached homes at the back of a pub are being recommended for approval.
The homes would be built on grassland behind the Rising Sun, Pit Lane, Gedney Drove End.
The parish council has objected to the application, with a major concern over drainage and flooding.
“The council agrees with the Environment Agency regarding the use of non-mains foul drainage system and inadequate assessment of the risks of pollution to ground and surface waters.”
The application is effectively a re-submission of another which was approved four years ago and has now expired.
The Environment Agency says there is “a lack of certainty whether the currently proposed method of foul drainage will be acceptable.”
Objections from the public included the flooding issue, they cite over-development, narrow roadway, and no footpaths.
But a report to go before members of South Holland District Council’s Planning Committee on Wednesday (February 5) recommends approval.
Mitigation measures will be enforced by conditions, including on the disposal of foul water.
The properties would have a covered patio, car port, utility and cycle store on the ground floor, and the first floor would have three bedrooms, bathroom, living room and kitchen/diner.
