Two families had to flee their homes after suspected arson attacks within minutes and just yards from each other in Weston Hills this morning.
Both fires were reported at around 2.50am on Old Fendike Road with a total of five fire crews attending the incident.
The Voice understands that two families, one of which has young children, were evacuated and thankfully there were no injuries.
The first incident reported to Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue at 2.48am was at the Spalding end of the road which was a fire in a domestic garage that is built into the detached home.
Crews from Spalding, Boston and Holbeach stopped the fire from spreading to the rest of the house using two hose reel, two breathing apparatus and two thermal imaging cameras.
Another crew from Spalding joined colleagues from Crowland at a separate fire just 100 yards down the road, close to Weston Hills School.
Neighbours described hearing a loud bang and seeing flames almost as high as the house itself coming from the shed to the left of the property.
The fire also damaged a vehicle parked alongside the shed.
Crews used two hose reels and two breathing apparatus to extinguish.
Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue said in a statement that investigations were continuing this morning.
A spokesman for Lincolnshire Police, said: “We received two calls from the fire service, at 3.15am and at 3.20am today (January 30), relating to fires at properties on Old Fendike Road, Weston Hills. One was in a garage and the other was in an outbuilding.
“No one was hurt.
“Both incidents are being treated as arson.
“Anyone with information should call Lincolnshire Police on 101, quoting Incident 27 of January 30.”
