Two drivers to hospital as crash closes A16 at Surfleet for five hours

Two drivers were seriously injured in an accident which closed the A16 at Surfleet for more than five hours.

It happened about 12.30pm on Saturday (July 18) and involved a Skoda Yeti and a Ford B Max.

The driver of the Skoda, a 34 year-old woman from Sussex, was flown to Queens Medical Centre in Nottingham. The driver of the Ford, a 71-year-old female from Spalding, went to Boston Pilgrim Hospital.

The passenger in each of the vehicles escaped without serious injury.
