Two arrested after county lines drugs raids in Spalding

Two people have been arrested following a series of drug raids were carried out in Spalding this morning (Tuesday, January 6).

Lincolnshire Police haven’t said where exactly or how many properties were targeted in the raids linked to county lines operations, but a 55 year old man and 34 year old woman have both been arrested on suspicion of possessing class A drugs.

The man has also been arrested on unrelated assault and theft offences with the woman on suspicion of an unrelated fraud offence.

A police spokesman said: “Neighbourhood Policing Teams, along with the Tactical Support Team, targeted a number premises as part of a coordinated crackdown on county lines activity across the district.

“This action follows a number of reported incidents involving violence, believed to be linked to county lines operations.”

South Holland’s Neighbourhood Policing Sergeant Marc Fowler, who coordinated today’s enforcements, said: “Today’s pre-planned warrants were carried out with one clear priority: protecting vulnerable people and keeping our community safe from the harms linked to county lines activity.

“We’ve acted on several pieces of intelligence about criminal and anti‑social behaviour connected to these premises, and while the public may not always see immediate action, I want to reassure you that a great deal of work is constantly happening behind the scenes.

“Every report we receive is assessed, developed and used to help us take the right action at the right time. Your information genuinely makes a difference, and we urge you to keep talking to us about anything that concerns you.”
