Two 14-year-olds charged with murder after Spalding deaths

Two 14-year-olds have been charged with murder following the deaths of a mum and daughter in Spalding.

The youths have been charged after the discovery of the bodies of a woman and girl at a house on Dawson Avenue, off Royce Road, on Friday afternoon.

They have both been remanded to appear before Lincoln Magistrates Court tomorrow (Monday April 18).

Police have still not formally identify the two victims but they are believed to be 49-year-old Elizabeth Edwards and her 13-year-old daughter Katie.

DCI Martin Holvey, of EMSOU Major Crime and who is leading the enquiry, said: “Post mortem examinations will be carried out in due course but again I still need to speak to anyone with any information that might be relevant from Dawson Avenue from around noon on Wednesday (April 13) to noon on Friday (April 15).

“If you saw or heard anything that you thought was suspicious or unusual I’d encourage you to get in touch as soon as possible. Please call the non-emergency number 101 quoting incident 163 of 15/04/2016 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”

“Our officers will continue to carry out enquiries in the locality and local uniformed officers will also be in the area. If you have any concerns please don’t hesitate to talk to them.”
