Tulips toppled in super snooker Shield final

Spalding side Tulips were edged out 3-2 by Grantham in the final of the Cliff Hall Memorial Shield at Donington.

Graham Crypsey and Shane Gray did win frames for Tulips, but defeats for Tom Goldstein, Craig Fitter and Bren Bowman ensured Grantham sealed the title.

Result: Tulips 2 Grantham 3 (Tom Goldstein 2 Lee Gorely 76; Craig Fitter 36 Stuart Gowen 45; Bren Bowman 40 Paul Gwytmer 67; Graham Crypsey 74 Brendan Garvey 56; Shane Gray 49 Matt Thurborn 23).
