WINNER: Tom Waumsley put Spalding into the next round of the FA Cup.

Tom Waumsley’s first-half strike earned Spalding United a 1-0 win over Heanor Town in the FA Cup on Saturday.

The former Holbeach United frontman volleyed home his second goal for the Tulips three minutes before the break at the Sir Halley Stewart Playing Field.

That’s how it stayed, meaning Pat Rayment’s side will hosts Holwell Sports in the first qualifying round.

Elsewhere, Moulton Harrox beat rivals Pinchbeck United 2-0 at Broad Lane in the ChromaSport and Trophies Peterborough President Premier Shield.

In the same competition, Holbeach United Reserves lost 2-1 at Stilton United while Crowland Town were beaten 5-3 at home by Sawtry in the Peterborough Premier Division.
