Trust gives statement on why it’s closing Spalding GP Surgery

The trust that runs the Spalding GP Surgery has issued a statement on why it’s to close the service.

The Lincolnshire Community Health Services NHS Trust oversees the Johnson Hospital where the Spalding Surgery has been been based since 2018 after the previous Pennygate Surgery closed.

This afternoon (July 13), the Lincolnshire Integrated Care Board announced it was to close with patients to be registered elsewhere.

The Voice asked the Trust why it had decided to stop housing the service.

Tracy Pilcher, director of nursing, AHPs and Operations at Lincolnshire Community Health Services NHS Trust (LCHS), said: “As the contract comes to an end, the Trust has decided to focus on working in partnership with GP surgery providers to develop services in local communities rather than as a provider of GP services.

“We will continue to work closely with the Lincolnshire Integrated Care Board with their plans to ensure a smooth transition for all patients.”
