Trolley load of money for hospital

The community-run Holbeach Hospital has received a £3,000 boost thanks to the NFU.

Its Spalding branch nominated the Holbeach and East Elloe Hospital Trust to receive a share of a £1.92m Agency Giving Fund.
The donation has enabled the trust to purchase one of three new observation trolleys, which cost £2,231 each.
Andrea Thorpe, partner, at the NFU Mutual Spalding agency, said: “We’re extremely proud to have nominated Holbeach and East Elloe Hospital Trust for this donation and are delighted to be able to support the vital contribution they make to our community.
“NFU Mutual’s Agency Giving Fund was first created in 2020 in response to the pandemic, and this ongoing support is helping to change lives, providing both emergency support and building long-term resilience.”
Rebecca Atkinson, business support manager at the trust, said: “The observation trolleys contain all the equipment we need to take very accurate readings to judge the health of our patients and residents.
“This is the first time the hospital has had such equipment which will allow us to provide accurate assessments, especially when passing information on to paramedics and GP surgeries in emergency situations and assessing deterioration in patients.
“We’re grateful to the Spalding Agency of NFU Mutual for nominating our charity to receive a donation from the NFU Mutual Agency Giving Fund.”
