Trio take on cycle night challenge in honour of Andrew

Two sisters who lost their brother to Motor Neurone Disease are getting on their bikes in a bid to help the charity that supported him.

Andrew Grantham passed away in July last year and throughout his illness his sisters Diane Sinclair and Beverley Leighton witnessed first hand the fantastic work that the MND Association does for families and sufferers of the disease.

The pair decided they wanted to give something back to the charity, so roped in niece Tara McNab, of Whaplode Drove, and signed up for the London Nightrider challenge on June 6 and 7.

Diane, of Pode Hole, said: “Andrew was aware that we planned to do the London Nightrider challenge this year and he totally approved, finding it quite amusing that his two unfit sisters were going to attempt a 100km bike ride through the night.

“Tara decided to join us earlier this year to make a team of three and hopefully raise as much money as possible for the charity.

“We have been training hard and are hopefully much fitter than we were at the beginning of the year.”
