Transport conference: Case for re-opening Littleworth station ‘weak’

Campaigners hoping to bring Littleworth Station at Deeping St Nicholas back into use have been told that their case is “weak”.

Spalding and Peterborough Transport Forum wants to see the site reinstated as a point for boarding and alighting on the Peterborough-Doncaster GNGE line.

However, Lincolnshire County Council’s executive director for environment and economy Richard Wills told members of the forum present: “In theory it should make sense. The thing is can you give the evidence of passengers?
“All that investment has to be determined to be worthwhile.
“Our assessment of your assessment is that it’s weak.”
