Town marks Armed Forces Day

Spalding marked Armed Forces Day with a parade on Tuesday (June 25).

The day itself is Saturday (June 29), but for several years it’s been held in the town on the Tuesday of Armed Forces week to coincide with that day’s market.
The guests of honour were Major Tim Brown, Area 2 Regimental Secretary and the High Sheriff of Lincolnshire Philip Dymoke.
Gabriella Pineda Rodrigues sang in the market and the church as did the choirs from Spalding Parish Church School and Ayscoughfee School and Spalding Community Choir.
Organiser Jan Whitbourn said: “It was a great day.
“Everyone who took part and sang was amazing.”
