Touring theatre comes to Spalding with Fen Boy

Fen Boy ws

Join Strangeface for a exciting new piece of mask and puppet theatre that tells the tale of trickster fairy boggart, Fen Boy.

Based on local folklore, this is the story of a tiny creature, made from mud, which is found by a farmer – who soon gets the better of his new master!

This piece will tour around on the back of one of FreshLinc’s flatbed trailers, stopping at various locations to present the 30-minute piece.

The piece is suitable for all the family, so bring a picnic and Strangeface will tell you a tale, sing you a song and give the audience a taste of the unexpected!

Strangeface specialise in working in community spaces, with most of their previous performances taking place in community spaces in the last nine years.

The theatre company has previously produced performances pieces for the National Trust, Edinburgh Fringe Festival and Historic Royal Palaces.

Rosie Lesurf-Olner, Arts Engagement Worker at Transported, said: “Transported are really excited to be working with Strangeface and to be bringing such a renowned company to perform around Boston Borough and South Holland, in August.

“The concept of transporting a performance on the back of a FreshLinc lorry is something that Transported have been wanting to try out for some time.

“We are so pleased that Strangeface are the company that will be delivering this, with their newest, site specific piece of mask and puppet theatre, Fen Boy.”

Performances take place on the following dates:

  • Wednesday, August 27, 12pm, Boston Central Park
  • Wednesday, August 27, 4pm, Sutterton Field, Boston
