Tornadoes will blow you away

Get ready to be blown away by an afternoon of country music headlined by The Texas Tornadoes UK.

The Elizabethan Centre at Whaplode Drove is putting on the Country Music Afternoon on Sunday, August 7 from 2pm.

The Texas Tornadoes are Pete Stothard and Stuart Payne.

Pete is a well-known line dancer who made the natural progression into performing himself before meeting multi-instrumentalist Stuart.

Stuart has played in the past with many of the big names in country including Circuit Judge, Sidewinder and the successful Hooked On Country Sold On Sixties theatre show.

A spokesman for the band said: “Despite the fame Pete achieved through his line-dance teaching and demonstrations, the band is far from being restricted to that sector.

“As long as it’s country they’re happy to play, and it’s as simple as that.

“Pete is a total extrovert, and when the audience is up for fun it’s nothing to see him leap off the stage while he’s singing, join in the dancing, and generally throw all of his (considerable) energy into making sure the audience goes home completely and utterly ‘entertained’ – he doesn’t know any other way – and his nickname of ‘The Cockney Cowboy’ comes from his general manner, outlook on life, and his insistence that life is good… as long as you always give it a helping hand.

“Be entertained therefore, each and every night, by the irrepressible Texas Tornados and go home with that ‘happy’ buzz afterwards.”

Backing Texas Tornado are Tony G who will be singing 50s and 60s ballads with the voice of Elvis Presley.

Tickets are £8 and available by contacting Jack on 01406 330528 or Dave on 01406 330619.
