Top Tydd turnout at Ian’s Captain’s Day event

Tydd St Giles Golf Club skipper Ian Edrupt celebrated his year in office with the annual Captain’s Day match – which raised more than £800.

Some 100 members took part in the Stableford event, which was played in glorious sunshine.

The impressive amount raised on the day will be presented to a charity of the captain’s choice at the end of his year.

Captain’s Day results: Teams – 1st Sean Hotson, Richard Wiffen, Isaac Chaplain-Barton, Richard Booty 94pts; 2nd Adey Rowell, Luke Rowell, Craige Garner, Neil Capper 91pts; 3rd Terry Pease, Terry Alcock, Steve Slim, Brian Newby 89pts.
Individual winner – Steve Collegher 41pts. Ladies’ individual – Karen Slator 29pts. Longest drive (7th) – Malcolm Stead. Nearest to the pin (4th) – Adey Bills; (8th) – Tom Carniham; (11th) – Derek Wroe; (16th) – Dennis Savory; (18th) – Julian Davey.
