Simon Richardson, Hugo Kedzlie and Andrew Grimwood steered Spalding Golf Club to a fantastic fourth placed finish at The Champions Club event.
Played at East Devon Golf Club, the event is open to the men’s champion club of each county union.
The three-man teams play 36 holes of scratch stroke play over two days to determine the overall winner.
The winning club is the one with the lowest combined score of all three players over 36 holes, with City of Newcastle (representing Northumberland) the runaway winners on 431.
Northamptonshire County (445) were second, with Burnham & Berrow (Somerset) taking third on 449. Spalding took fourth place on countback after being one of four teams to score 442. The others were Rochester & Cobham Park (Kent), Tehidy Park (Cornwall) and King’s Lynn (Norfolk).
- A total of 30 teams entered Spalding’s Pro AM, event – with the top six all awarded with prizes.
The winning team – all from Spalding – were Julie Gooderson, Spencer Gooderson, Maria Williamson and professional Adam Keogh. Spalding’s thanks go to Listers BMW at Boston for sponsoring the event and their continued support for this event annually.
- The competition was again fierce as 126 members took part in Spalding’s Club Trophy event.
David Perrott’s score of 65 points was enough for the win, ahead of Spencer Gooderson in second and Harry Hunt in third after both scored 68 points.
Daniel Mayfield was fourth on countback after he David Englis both scored 69 points.
