Top trio stay in title frame with just four games to go

There is still everything to play for with just four games remaining in the current season of The Spalding and South Holland Voice six-a-side League.

Another fantastic night at Surfleet’s Glen Park saw all of the teams in attendance and the three title-chasing teams in the top tier all securing wins.

In Division Two, leaders Puyol Pants Down will have to wait another week to confirm their promotion and expected title after they were held 2-2 by promotion-chasing Nibblesborough.

The top tier got under way with East Europa’s Tomas Urbanavicius getting his marching orders as his side finished with five players against a delighted Evolution side. Evolution, whose Jason

Clow was man of the match (MOTM), rolled out 2-1 winners – and in doing so cement their mid-table fifth position.

Promotion-chasing You’ve Got No Fans then bounced back from last week’s defeat in the best possible manner, with a 5-2 win over rock-bottom Mirror Signal Malouda.

YGNF remain three points off the top, while MSM were impressive in defeat with Cameron Walker on-song.

Champions Polishborough head into their mega-showdown with title rivals Tekkers next week on the back of a confident and effective performance as they beat The Squad 5-0.

Polishborough, who remain a point off the pace, had skipper Tomasz Rabiega as MOTM in this game.

The next game saw Univeg Team play very poorly in their clash with Simple FC. Luckily for them, though, the Division Two champions were even poorer and Univeg grabbed a content 2-0 victory.

Univeg’s stout defender Paul Handford grabbed his first MOTM in this one.

Leaders Tekkers maybe had their eye on next week as they just edged past the Notinmymums Forest challenge in a 2-1 win.

Cameron Cope scooped MOTM as his second-half showing was just enough for Tekkers to edge home to keep then in the ascendancy ahead of next week’s 9pm showdown with the Poles.

The final tie of Division One saw Football Club continue their 100 per cent record – but they were made to work hard as Horse and Groom succumbed to a 3-2 defeat.

The promotion race in Division Two is closer than close as three teams battle it out for one spot.

First up were Posh Old Boys, but they could only manage a 2-2 draw with Tekkerslovakia. Martin Ward, who scored both goals for Posh, was MOTM.

Sarah’s Boys followed that with a 6-0 win over Dynamo Kiev to go back into second.

Ben Shaw grabbed MOTM in an emphatic victory.

Leaders Puyol Pants Down and Nibblesborough then battled out their 2-2 draw. That leaves the table-toppers a point off the title and Nibblesborough back in fourth. MOTM Harry Ledger was his usual slippery and entertaining self.

The highest scoring game of the night then saw How Far Can You Swim? go down 10-5 against Balotellitubbies. Michael Cope scored seven en-route to being MOTM.

Next up, FC Barnicols followed the form guide in their 3-0 win over Mail Carters as Liam Lachasseigne grabbed his fourth MOTM prize so far.

The last game saw The TBME score a flood of late goals as they beat Bowlcut Wanderers FC 4-2 to continue their mini-revival in form.
Wes Wilson claimed MOTM in the finale.
