Top Brand is not washed away by late deluge

An unwelcome downpour just before the start of the race added an extra element for Spalding Cycling Club members to contend with on their weekly time trial.

A total of 13 riders took to the Pode Hole course and it was a familiar face at the top with Dominic Brand continuing his strong form with a time of 21 minutes 49 seconds to lead home veteran Frazer Wallis (22:16).
A welcome returnee was Chris Ward, after missing the start of the season due to injury. He came home a solid fourth, just ahead of Kieran Buffham, who again
won the road bike category, 23:16.
Evgeniya Brand rounded out the top 10 overall and won the women’s category with a time of 26:13.
There was another strong ride from young gun Scarlett Ward in her first season.
