Toast to coffee morning

Revamped coffee mornings are proving a hit in Long Sutton.
A group of volunteers has taken on the mantle of the Friday morning institution which raises funds for St Mary’s Church.
The sessions stopped when the first COVID lockdowns hit, but have now returned.
Volunteer Jo Birdseye said: “We have been encouraged not only by our visitors expressing their delight that the coffee mornings are running again but also by our great team of volunteers who give their time and commitment happily each week.
“We have a lovely team of volunteers who either help in the kitchen or in the hall serving our local community. It is proving to be very rewarding seeing our number of visitors grow each week and we like to think this is partly down to the warm and welcoming atmosphere we provide to everyone who ventures through our doors.
“It is a place for them to either sit over a coffee and have some time to themselves, or to meet up with friends, or make some new ones.
“We are here for our community and also we hope to encourage any potential new volunteers that we would love them to become part of our team.”
Any volunteers that can help on Friday morning can pop along or phone Jo on 07925 108805.
