Timely innings for cricket club

A vandal-hit cricket club has hit back in time for the new season.

Long Sutton was left devastated after its artificial wicket was ripped out.
But thanks to generous donations from the community it’s raised the thousands of pounds needed to get it back ready ahead of the new season which starts this month.
Dales Sports Surfaces, from Leverton, has installed the new surface which is ready to be played on throughout the summer by the club’s numerous senior and junior teams.
Julie Speed, from the fundraising committee expressed heartfelt gratitude, stating, “We are overwhelmed by the local support.
Thank you to everyone.”
