Tigers will look to beat away blues

Holbeach United are still in the hunt for the Thurlow Nunn Division One North play-offs, but they could really do with finding their form away from home.

Saturday’s 3-0 loss at Norwich CBS is now four matches without a win and four defeats in a row away from Carter’s Park.
They’ve only won once away from home since September 2, a total of 11 games in all competitions.
However they remain in the play off hunt.
The Tigers are sixth, a point behind the top five.
Holbeach fell behind shortly after the half-hour mark and Norwich took control with two goals in quick succession early in the second.
Jack Prentice netted the Tulips’ consolation late on but that was as good as it got.
Kyle Richardson scored twice for the hosts with Karl Horton also netting in front of a very healthy crowd of 303.
Holbeach will be hopeful of getting over their away day blues this weekend when they visit Whitton United.
Whitton are third from bottom and in the relegation zone.
Holbeach are then back at home again on Wednesday (February 21) when Great Yarmouth Town are the visitors.
l Last week Holbeach United recognised one of its biggest supporters on his 60th birthday.
Alan Wright, known throughout Holbeach as ‘Lefty’ was presented with a valued service accolade by Lincolnshire FA’s South Holland delegate George Richardson.
He’s volunteered and helped out at the club for more than 50 years with roles including being chair of the youth section and reserve team manager.
Mr Richardson said: “There are not many higher accolades than this in the FA and he absolutely deserves it.
“It’s an award for really extensive service.
“Not many have put in as much service as Lefty in such a wide range of jobs.
“Even when he’s been struggling with ill health, he’s still been at Carter’s Park helping out where he can.
“Most people would have packed it up by now, but he still wants to help the club.
“It was one of the most enjoyable presentations I’ve had to do.”

Tigers: Rigby, Yambasu, Cook, Harris, Ling, Oldham, Carter, Barnes, Vieira, Pilbeam, Frost. Subs: Clifton, Nicholson, Prentice, Thorne, Hoyle.
Attendance: 303.
