Cal Davies was bagging goals for Holbeach United all last season and it’s no surprise he bagged three awards at the club’s end of season presentation evening.
He was the Players’ and Supporters’ Player of the Year as well as landing the Top Goalscorer accolade.
He netted 22 times during the campaign, or 26 if you include the four he scored against Harwich, which the league wiped from the record books due to a referee’s error.
The Sponsors’ Player of the Year went to captain Luke Nicholson, while John Yambasu was named manager Danny Clifton’s top player from the campaign that saw the Tigers finish 11th in their first season in the Thurlow Nunn First Division North.
Jordan Oldham was the Young Player of the Year.
Holbeach United Reserves finished sixth in the Dor-Jan Peterborough and District League Premier Division, as well as reaching the final of the Senior Cup.
Zenan Ali was both their Young Player of the Year and joint Players’ Player of the Year, alongside Calum Dalliday.
Callum Richard-Shaw won the Manager’s Player of the Year title, Brad Water took home the supporters’ award and Otto Wood the sponsors’ gong.
Jordan Keeble was the top goal scorer.
For Holbeach Sports, who finished fifth in Division One, Cam Lee took both the Players’ Player and Manager’s Player awards.
Dean Elston was named the Sport Player of the Year and got the same accolade from the sponsors.
Danny Prince was the Young Player of the Season and Connor Bell was the top scorer.
There were three club-wide awards.
The Dennis Sparrow Memorial Shield for the Most Improved Player went to Jordan Oldham and Neil Dawson was named Clubman of the Year.
There was also a special award of thanks from Clifton to volunteer Ian Abrams for his work for the club.
