Tigers caught out late

On a day of late goals, Holbeach United also fell foul of a late equaliser.

It cost them victory at Needham Market Reserves, where the hosts struck with the last kick to earn a 2-2 draw in the Eastern Counties League.

Substitute Louie Garner came off the bench to put the Tigers ahead but the hosts levelled. Garner netted again to put Holbeach on their way to a valuable away win, only for the Suffolk side the equalise again right at the death.

It meant a fourth draw in five outings for Callum Lawe’s men, but the manager felt his team are starting to develop well.

“We are at the midway point of the season and are pleased with the progress made over the last 10 games,” he said.

“This group is developing strong bonds week by week and that unity is starting to show in our performances. There is still plenty for us to work on but the foundations are strong and the direction is clear.”

Tigers: Sellars, Kacirek, Roberts, Oldham, Hoult, Nicholson, Hyde, Carter, Wright, O Williams, Shenille.
Subs: Wilkshire, Bodibe, Garner, Coelho, J Williams.
Attendance: 46.
